The Bagji Bugyal Trek is a beautiful and relatively unexplored Himalayan trek in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand, offering an exceptional experience for trekkers who want to enjoy peaceful alpine landscapes away from the crowds of more popular trekking destinations. The trek begins from Ghes Village and takes you through picturesque Himalayan villages, dense forests of oak and rhododendron, flowing streams, open grasslands and expansive alpine meadows. As the trail gradually gains altitude, the surrounding landscape becomes more dramatic, with wide green slopes and magnificent views of the Himalayan mountains. The highlight of the trek is Bagji Bugyal, a vast high-altitude meadow where trekkers can experience the beauty and tranquillity of the Himalayas. The trail continues towards Bagji Top, reaching an altitude of approximately 3,350 metres (11,000 feet), from where spectacular views of the surrounding mountain ranges and valleys can be enjoyed on clear days. With a total trekking distance of around 20 km, the route is generally completed over 5 days and 4 nights, making it a comfortable option for those looking for a moderately paced Himalayan adventure.
