About Bhagsu nag Dal
**The Bhagsu Nag–Nag Dal Trek is one of the most beautiful and adventurous high-altitude routes around Dharamshala. Starting from the lively Bhagsu/McLeod Ganj area, the trail gradually moves into quiet oak, rhododendron and deodar forests before opening onto the spectacular alpine meadows of Triund. As the altitude increases, the landscape becomes increasingly rugged, with huge rocks, narrow mountain trails, snow patches and dramatic Dhauladhar peaks surrounding the route. The journey through Laka Glacier and Lahesh Cave prepares trekkers for the challenging crossing of Indrahar Pass, from where the views towards the Pir Panjal and surrounding Himalayan ranges are especially impressive. After crossing the pass, the remote and sacred Nag Dal Lake appears in a high mountain basin, creating a peaceful contrast to the difficult trail. The combination of forests, green meadows, glaciers, rocky ridges, snow-covered mountains, ancient shepherd routes and the isolated blue-green lake makes this trek an exceptional experience for trekkers looking for raw Himalayan scenery away from the more crowded trails around Dharamshala.
