About Chaainsheel Bugyal
Chaainsheel Bugyal is one of the lesser-explored high-altitude meadow treks of Uttarakhand, located in the Uttarkashi region near the Uttarakhand–Himachal Pradesh border. The trek takes you through dense forests, mountain streams, traditional landscapes and enormous alpine grasslands before reaching the beautiful Chaainsheel meadows at approximately 3,580–3,600 metres (11,750–11,800 feet). The open meadows provide impressive Himalayan panoramas, including views toward Bandarpoonch, Kalanag, Black Peak and Swargarohini. The route is particularly attractive for trekkers who want a quieter Himalayan experience away from heavily commercialized trails. Depending on the chosen route, the trek covers roughly 32 km over 7 days and 6 nights, with forest camps and high-altitude meadow camps along the way. During late spring and early summer, the landscape becomes lush and green, while autumn offers clearer mountain views and pleasant trekking conditions. The trek is considered moderate, making it suitable for trekkers with reasonable fitness and some previous trekking experience.
