About Chandranahan Lake
The Chandranahan Lake Trek is one of Himachal Pradesh’s scenic offbeat Himalayan adventures, taking trekkers deep into the beautiful Pabbar Valley near Rohru. The journey begins at the traditional mountain village of Janglik and climbs through dense pine and oak forests before opening into the spectacular Dayara and Litham alpine meadows. Along the route, trekkers encounter clear mountain streams, waterfalls, snow-covered slopes, grazing meadows and dramatic Himalayan peaks. From Litham, the trail continues towards the remote Chandranahan Lake, a high-altitude glacial lake situated at roughly 4,200 metres. The combination of forests, vast meadows, glacial landscapes and peaceful surroundings makes this trek particularly attractive for travellers looking for a less-crowded Himalayan experience. The recommended seasons are May–June and September–October, while conditions on the upper trail can vary considerably with snow and weather.
