About Demul–Lhalung–Komic
This trek is less about climbing a single summit and more about experiencing the traditional high-altitude villages and Buddhist culture of Spiti. A typical route begins at Kaza, followed by acclimatisation and travel towards Langza. From Langza, trekkers walk through Hikkim to Komic, famous for its high-altitude settlement and Tangyud Monastery. The route then crosses the demanding Hikkim–Demul Pass before descending to the agricultural village of Demul. From Demul, the trail drops dramatically into the Lingti gorge, eventually reaching Lhalung, where you can visit the ancient Serkhang/Golden Temple monastery. The terrain changes constantly—from barren high plateaus and rocky passes to green fields and narrow gorges. This makes it an excellent trek for people who want a combination of landscape, village life, monasteries and photography, rather than a conventional summit trek.
