About Kartik Swami
Kartik Swami is a renowned pilgrimage and trekking destination dedicated to Lord Kartikeya, the elder son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati, located in the Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand. Perched at an elevation of approximately 3,100 metres above sea level, the temple is beautifully situated on a rocky mountain ridge and offers breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding Himalayan ranges. The temple is considered spiritually significant by devotees and attracts pilgrims throughout the year. Reaching Kartik Swami involves a scenic trek through forests, mountain paths, and traditional villages, allowing visitors to experience the peaceful beauty of the Garhwal Himalayas. The trail becomes especially beautiful during sunrise and sunset when the surrounding mountains are illuminated by golden light.
