About Kibber–Tashigang
The Kibber–Tashigang Trek is an offbeat high-altitude journey through some of the most remote landscapes of Spiti Valley in Himachal Pradesh. Starting from the traditional village of Kibber, the route heads towards Gette and continues to the isolated settlement of Tashigang, passing through rocky trails, cultivated patches, barren mountain slopes and dramatic Himalayan scenery. Kibber stands at roughly 4,200–4,270 metres, while Tashigang is around 4,500 metres above sea level. The journey provides an opportunity to experience traditional Spitian architecture, Buddhist culture and the peaceful lifestyle of high-altitude mountain communities. The area is also known for its wildlife, including the possibility of spotting blue sheep and other high-altitude species. Because of the elevation, gradual acclimatization and proper hydration are important. The best trekking window is generally June to October, when access to the high villages is most practical.
