About Satlanjan
The Satlanjan Trek is a beautiful Himalayan adventure in the Pahalgam–Lidder Valley region of Kashmir. The trail leads through lush meadows, dense forests, rocky terrain and numerous mountain streams before reaching Satlanjan, a scenic high-altitude camping area surrounded by dramatic mountain valleys. The name Satlanjan is associated with the seven streams or bridges encountered in this section of the route, adding to the character of the trek.
Satlanjan is particularly important as part of the Kolahoi Glacier trekking route. From the area, trekkers can continue toward higher valleys and the Kolahoi Glacier viewpoint, passing through alpine grasslands, boulder sections and glacial landscapes. The surrounding scenery includes cascading streams, wide mountain valleys, shepherd settlements and spectacular views toward Kolahoi Peak. The route is generally undertaken during the summer trekking season, when the higher trails become more accessible and the meadows are green.
