About Tulian Lake Trek
The Tulian Lake Trek is one of the most beautiful short high-altitude treks in the Pahalgam region of Jammu & Kashmir. The journey takes trekkers from the lush surroundings of Pahalgam through dense pine and conifer forests, green alpine meadows and increasingly rugged mountain terrain before reaching the spectacular Tulian Lake. Situated at roughly 3,600–3,700 metres, the lake is surrounded by dramatic rocky walls and snow-covered peaks, while its blue-green waters create a striking contrast with the surrounding landscape.
The trail can be challenging, particularly on the steep and rocky final section, but the spectacular scenery makes the effort worthwhile. Depending on the route and itinerary, the trek may pass through Baisaran, Deno Valley, Kanimarg and Tulian Valley, giving trekkers opportunities to experience Kashmir’s forests, meadows and remote alpine landscapes. During early summer, snow and ice may still be visible around the lake, while July–September generally provides greener meadows and more accessible trails. June to September is widely considered the best trekking window, with September often offering clearer skies and excellent photography conditions.
